For over 20 years, Channel 5 Productions has been recording events
featuring preserved steam in action.

Most of the material in this programme was  released on VHS as part of
our  `Steam In Focus’ magazine series, but until now has not been released on
DVD.

We feature:

Film of fan trips on the Victorian lines that were about to close, including
Cudgewa, Daylesford, Mansfield and Wonthaggi.

Y 112 on a parallel run in 1997 on the Geelong line in Victoria as well as In
2000, when the Y travelled between Ballarat and Maryborough before
running to Castlemaine on this now abandoned cross country line.

The Swanbank Railway in Queensland in 1997.

The extension of the Puffing Billy Railway from Lakeside to Gembrook is
covered including test runs by the Peckett and Na class locomotives as well
as the official opening.

The West Coast Wilderness Railway in Tasmania, where the ABT rack
locomotives operate on the steep gradients between Queenstown and
Dubbil Barril.  We travel as far as Rinadeena.

Steam traction engines gather at Maldon in Victoria where they meet up with
locomotives at the `Victorian Goldfields Railway’.

R 700 being transferred to Ballarat in it’s first steps towards restoration.
