The Upfield Line - CFRD-1003
The Upfield Line in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, has for most of its recent history, been overlooked for modernisation. But all this is about to change with the announcement of upgrades in late 1996. We took our cameras into the drivers cabin to witness a journey from Flinders Street to Upfield from a drivers perspective.

A Day at Tallarook - CFR-004
Tallarook was once an important junction for trains to Mansfield and Alexandra. Today its an unstaffed station which services commuters to Melbourne and Seymour. On March 13th 1997, our cameras recorded daylight traffic through the station. See long freights roaring to Perth and Brisbane,

Rail Motors Remembered - CFRD-1009
Go back to the days when the familiar Blue and Gold coloured diesel electric rail motors, more affectionately known as D.E.R.M’s, and the Walker rail cars served the branch lines of Victoria. We feature Diesel Electric Rail Motors on lines North of Bendigo and the Mansfield lines. Plus we see the Walker cars on regular services including Piangil and Linton.

The Glen Waverley Line - CFRD-1021
The Glen Waverley line is 22 kilometres in length and passes through some of Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The line is used by thousands of daily commuters but few have been able to experience the view from the cab. Join us as we take on a journey from Flinders Street to Glen Waverley filmed in Autumn of 1998. We also feature historical photos of the line from 1955

R-711 - Back in Steam - CFRD 1028
Of the 70 ‘R’ class locomotives built between 1951 and 1953, only seven remain. R711 entered service on the 28th of August 1951 and was withdrawn in August 1965. It languished in a Geelong locomotive depot before being put on display outside Bendigo station. In this programme we follow the restoration process and include footage of its glory days whilst in regular service.
